Friend of the program Lucas Carr stopped in to talk about his running of the marathon and the people it will benefit, he also shared his story of his actions at the 2013 Marathon.

Well this year Matt brown and -- runner for the Travis Roy foundation raising money and awareness for spinal cord injuries. Concerning both of them both of them -- unfortunate suffered the same type of injury. And you know this is a great opportunity. For us to spread awareness for spinal cord injuries and in sports the EU and Matt have done several marathon yes. New York -- -- Oslo. Hyannis and Hyannis. Boston yeah. We're looking to expand again bill and obviously we're gonna hopefully to go back to New York City again this year and take the -- pretty much in. Don't look at me and probably do Marine Corps marathon we you know we got some big plans how can people moaning and they -- -- well. Not only do you run the marathon and you push another person. And I'm really. I feel like a completely lost I have an -- I area I'm on the elliptical with the Kindle for twenty minutes and -- my ass look big big things makes you feel awful small rarely. That's that's my name for their -- for -- you're scared that it's a safe thing. So you know at that funniest thing like coming back here later on this tiny areas. When -- item was mentioned in -- earlier but there was 11 year were I came in here and now. It -- thing that was called Celtics should not fixed assets just. In this place. Was just -- and a leg for like a month that people have to eat something that smelled -- -- and somebody in the air had to throw up in like everybody. Grow up to. Yeah -- -- good way to raise money that was this there are big rely on their daily. I really great picture. On my phone if you believe it got of Lucas and Matt. I mean they definitely Saturday morning got plenty of time. So last last year Matt and I didn't get to run the marathon ya and it's just you know I found out three days before. So our -- time would have been at 9:30 AM. But I ended up but taken out later -- times start at 1030. Probably would have finished around maybe the same time but I ended up running a marathon in my -- last year. I just by myself without map because he was suffering from pneumonia. And we ran for the Boston Bruins foundation. And it. Obviously when everything that had happened. I was grabbing my metal and then the first one went off behind me and I'm Matt was just and -- talking about the -- today it's like. Man imagine if that was used there what you know we were there. Somebody's always like telling you I mean I you don't like to talk about a budget year bring good news out of bravery that day -- UN right and then and and and and. Up a lot of people -- so at just like everybody else who would be in place that situation and how you react you know you're just doing your job man. That's you know something you're you're kind of in -- into its. Really at your immune to that like this is what you need to do and how it's like a second nature called here and you just thought you just go what your business. And you know it's like anything else your experience overseas. You know you and armed patrol the next day after some like that and I want to work commenced yeah -- -- so. You know it's it's part of recovery process the everybody. Continues to move forward on and it's you know something. However we can all look at. You know the situation because literally Boston as a whole house moved on and the city as one tough son of god. Ohio you know be watching yesterday -- and that that tribute yesterday was just. Perfect I couldn't find anything wrong with -- Patrick and that. -- -- towns men are unbelievable. It's unbelievable I just somebody you don't in my -- the hell out of I mean it's really. All of those survivors and what they did I was talking earlier about how a lot of my thing. Amazingly. Showed up for -- like you know they're there to show last that there. You know I don't rise -- -- bottom Elena thankfully everything is all I know it doesn't hold my head around them being thankful yeah -- -- -- you sign -- and you know it's amazing dancer gets an unbelievable. It's an everyday person just with so much appreciation in out thank the city for what and everybody else you know for what they've done and Belgrade beat you. And everybody here what you do with a great health foundation. Some odd years I think due out in knowing and like three try -- the lines are year round in nailed down ten other marathons a year now it's. It's it's amazing I almost died at that five K in December had a solid play so it does look like yours as well you know they are doing what are on that note you know if you know this is -- you know Lucas in and Matt he's way of trying to carry carry on. And -- keep raising awareness for our. For people that I can't run the marathon on their own and and and raise money for them you know Matt brown foundation.
